Our Wedding Registration
Today is 25th September 2006. It is 6:00AM in the morning and the sky is still dark. We both woke up and freshen up ourselves and got ready for buffet breakfast at Palm Hill Cafe. Just in case you are wondering where is this place. We checked-in into Putrajaya Shangri-La the day before for a little getaway hehe The picture on your left is the top view of the cafe. Both of us could not eat much during breakfast as we were both excited and anxious at the same time for the BIG day.Our Wedding Registration. I went back to the room first as I need more time to do my makeup as I usually don't put makeup to work unless it is a big function :P By the time we got ready it was already 8:00AM in the morning and we had toadjourn to my parents' place to meet up with them before going to the Buddhist Maha Vihara in Brickfields where the registration is held.
Before we could arrived at the temple, we received a call from Yeh (our professional photographer from The Photoz) informing us that he has arrived and the 1st couple has already arrived for the registration. Just to fulfill your curiosity, on this date, there are 4 couples who chose this date for their registration and it is on a first-come-first-serve basis. So by the time we arrive at the temple at about 9:30AM, we were the 2nd couple in line. After taking the number, we proceed to a short blessing ceremony by the monk in the temple and we made donations to the temple :) As we still had some time before the 1st couple is out from the registration room, we took some group photos among frenz with my beautiful and nicely decorated bouquet of white roses. Thanks to Adrian's sister! ;) She even matches the ribbon to the colour of my dress on that day. After some photo taking, we made our way up the stairs to the registration room located on the 1st floor where the registrar has just finish with the 1st couple. When he called for number 2, we all went in.
Initially we thought it would be a quiet ceremony but it turns out to be a good laughing session as the registrar made jokes throughout the registration. As you can see in the picture, everyone had a great laughter. The registrar told us that we have to have a round of practise in saying "Yes, I do" after he reads a statement. After that he said "OK, no more practise. Now we may start."
He told us to face each other and Adrian held my hands. He read the statement to Adrian and Adrian replied with "Yes, I do" and then came my turn to do the same. Then we exchange wedding rings, signed our wedding certification, pronnounced as husband and wife, and of course the groom may kissed the bride hehe
After the 1st kissed, the registrar asked the photographer if he manage to take a good shot of it. He said if not, you may ask them to kissed again till you get the right one haha so we kissed the 2nd time for a good photo shot. Did you know that for civil registration, wedding band is worn on the 4th finger of your left hand for both bride and groom? We were blur at first when he told us as our initial plan was to follow the chinese customs.
After the registration, we proceed to take some group photos and
also some pre-wedding photos too hehe .
To tell you the truth it is really not easy to take these photos as the photographer always asked us to be natural and also happy looking at the same time. The 1st few shots we were not too good at it but after a while we got the hang of it. There was a shot that we felt like we were shooting bollywood movie haha We are actually still within the temple's compound though. Now is lunch time. We all proceed to Hideki in One Bangsar
for a delicious Japanese lunch as we both love Japanese food. It was good food all the way and we ended with a smooth and rich green tea ice cream. If you love Japanese food, this would be a good place to go try it out.
This would be a day we will remember and celebrate annually.
